Sparx SAMURAI At-Home – Deburring Machine

Sparx SAMURAI At-Home – deburring without a honing stone

Sharpening leaves a fine burr on the edge. Normally you remove it by hand with a honing stone. The Sparx SAMURAI takes care of this: you pass the blade through the guide, the rotating deburring disc removes the burr – and the sharpness is preserved.

According to Sparx, this is the safest and fastest way to deburr skates. The deburring disc works with a proprietary formula and is suitable for all types of steel, including coated, mirrored and painted steel.

Your benefits

• Better: The burr is removed precisely. You get an edge that is smooth along its entire length, with consistent sharpness – every time.
• Faster: deburring in seconds, right after sharpening
• Safer: no direct contact with the sharp edge

How it works

• Adjust: Turn the red adjustment knob until you hear the disc just touching the metal insert in the skate guide. Then go back one click.
• Pull through: Pass the blade through the guide in an even arc. According to the manual, two passes per skate are usually enough – one per side.
• Readjust: Sparx recommends briefly readjusting the adjustment knob after every pair. This does not shorten the life of the disc.
• Change the disc: When the adjustment knob is at the end of the indicator, the disc is used up. You replace it without tools.
